The underground railroad monument in Battle Creek, Michigan is a tribute to
Erastus & Sarah Hussey, and Harriet Tubman who were responsible for freeing
1,000 slaves from a life of slavery in the south.
This monument serves to illustrate that God sends people into our lives to help
us get free from slavery to bad habits, sex, drugs, and other life destroying
attitudes and bondages.
